Was Cheney Involved?

Rumors are circulating about a lightning visit by the Vice-President to the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Apparent U.S. military fire struck the tent of a nomad family on the Pakistan side of the rugged border with Afghanistan, killing two women and injuring at least four children, two Pakistani officials said.

Four rockets or shells were apparently fired by the U.S. military in fighting with suspected militants in Afghanistan's eastern Khost province late Saturday, and one hit the tent at Bangi Dar, in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal area.

The officials -- one an intelligence official, the other a local government administrator -- spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to media.

It appears that Cheney decided to get some duck hunting in on this secret South-Asia trip. He shoots, and everyone has to duck.

On a different Cheney firearms-related fuck-up, some gooper apologists are trying to blame the victim.

A wag is saying on background that, "if (pellet-holed Texas lawyer) Whittington wasn't leaking before this weekend, he sure is now."
