ABC News is So Concerned

The tools over at ABC News are on a big anti-tobacco campaign.

They are invoking the memory of their late anchorman Peter Jennings who died of lung cancer to try to convince everyone that smoking cigarettes is bad for your health. ABC News says that many people have e-mailed to say that Peter's death finally convinced them to kick the habit. As if this is big news.

There is, however, one problem with the ABC news division's superior public service attitude. The very week that poor Mr. Jennings departed this veil of tears, ABC News was dutifully propagandizing the citizenry with the government's meme of the week.

ABC News (and the other broadcast networks evening newscasts) did several stories that week on "America's Most Dangerous Drug", crystal meth.

They should be ashamed of themselves.
